veronica & paul.. in V&P style!

Word on the street…  in 2007 there was a band called ‘Denim Venim’ playing at ‘the Zoo‘ (a long-standing & respected live music venue in Brisbane).. Thing was that no-one had really heard of this band..  & the question on everyone’s lips? “how is an unheard-of band scoring a gig at the Zoo? with no support acts? with $zero entry??!”..  Word on the street moves fast as you know.. the day of the gig, rumours were circulating that this might indeed be a secret show that Australian rock legends Powderfinger were putting on under a pseudonym band name..

So..  after a few dates, Paul really wanted to get to know Veronica better..  He knew she was a HUGE Powderfinger fan, so on the off-chance that the rumours were true, he ventured down to the Zoo early on a recon mission to find a very long queue of people at the door of the Zoo.. Still without confirmation of Denim Venim’s identity, Paul queued up there for several hours, knowing that this adventure (albeit, not without risk), could  grab the attentions, (and potentially the affections),  of one lovely & worthy lady – according to “Impressing your Ladyfriend 101”..

Now that right there, my friends, is what love is about..  Veronica & Paul (their friends actually call them ‘V&P’), you guys are the business!

ps..  V&P’s wedding was very them.. Ceremony at Broadway Chapel by the lovely Anne Campbell.. Paul’s suit was custom tailor-made by The Cloak Room (I’ll be stopping by there myself I think), with their reception at Mirra..  They had a bridal party of about 60 people – all on one huge long table for a viking style feast (except without the eating with their hands, conquering & pillaging)..  Just know that it was awesome!

one of those 'once in every 300 years' moments.. this is the frame, the moment, unaltered.. the Dads had just signed the marriage register.. I'm a sucker for symmetry!

Todd: "so V&P, I have an idea for a shot & I'm a little bit excited, but it does involve you both lying on this lovely clean concrete.. What say you?".. V&P: "we say let's do it!".. Todd: "I think I love you."

Loretta Absolutely brilliant photography. Hard to pick a favourite seeing they’re all fantastically creative, but I chuckled at the pre-wedding pic of Paul on the couch with “point of no return” headline on the newspaper, loved the symmetry in the one of V&P hugging their dads, and the upside down Paulie one is just gold!!!! Well done for managing to get V&P laying on concrete dressed in their finest! Typical of the crazy cool couple :)
