• hello friends..

welcome to my personal blog - things i like - music, photos, architecture, design, & words - from my brain (and other people's brains).. all images here are taken by me (some awesome wedding pics from Alyda too), unless highfives are very gladly given to the author of some things i wish i had made/created/recorded/thought of/seen..

ps.. I'm a wedding photographer.. so if you're planning to marry your lover, & you like what you see/feel here, you should contact us very soon.. we take limited bookings for wedding photography each year & we book out early.. (& i'm not just saying that to make you call us) :]

here's a movie we made to introduce our little friends to the world.. ---->

lizzie & rob’s wedding festival..

well..     ready yourself people..

every 100 weddings or so, a job comes along like no other..

think of anything that can be generally seen as inconvenient, or potentially a ‘problem’ on a wedding day & write them down in a big list –  1). a wedding on a vacant patch of land kind of in the middle of nowhere..  2). no electricity/running water/mobile phone signal,  3). outdoor everything with monsoonal rain most of the day..   4). a LOT of mud..   5). etc etc..

take everything on that list and add it to the list that will normally be the things that make a wedding convenient, easy, & awesome.. it is now impossible for your wedding to not be amazing..  embrace the unpredictable & ye shall be rewarded!

lizzie & rob are two very special people.. they are 100% true to themselves & they know what’s important in life – relationships..  For me, they are the perfect clients in so many ways, and i’m pretty sure if you looked up the definition of ‘awesome‘, there’d be a photo of them being awesome without even knowing how awesome they are..  underneath that photo, it’d say, “see also ‘perfect client‘..”  I just love these guys so hard..

lizzie & rob are also very talented photographers themselves so check out their skillz at solaris photography.. aaaaand their wedding is also featured on the UK super blog, Rock’n’Roll Bride.. Have a look over there for more photos & some sweet information about their DIY domination.

highfives to my second shooter for this extravaganza emma holcroft, who spent the day in a bunnings poncho  :)

Boho's Best Bits – W/C 24th March – Boho Weddings™ - […] Lizzie and Rob’s Wedding Festival – From Todd Hunter McGaw […]

shan & ben.. super chilled..

A wedding should not be a stressful thing.. It just shouldn’t.. If your wedding is a stress to organise, then you’re doing it wrong..

Shan & Ben are a perfect example of how to do things right..  Their wedding was in Rainbow Beach, a quiet seaside town on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast – close to where they both grew up.. Their hotel , the ceremony, and reception venue were all within 100 metres of each other.. This might even be the least stressful wedding I’ve ever been to..

It was an amazing day for sure and what I love most about Shan & Ben’s wedding is how they included their two sons in their celebration – it was beautiful..  For Shan & Ben, their wedding (as awesome as it was), wasn’t even really about the wedding – it was about relationships..  Life-long friends & super-close families sharing good times & cutting loose for a day to party on.. It was freakin’ amazing to see.. And for a day, they embraced us like family too..  I just wanted to hug everyone there, but I didn’t because that would seem a little weird I think  :)

Shan & Ben’s wedding is also featured on Polkadot Bride so check it out for more of their story..

Big highfives to my co-pilot Alyda, and Shan & Ben for being awesome.. (ps.. Shan wears Karen Willis Holmes)

love from todd..

pps.. Hi Jas & Nick (and Aria)  ^_^

Boho's Best Bits – W/C 20th January – Boho Weddings™ - […] Tim and Ruth Noosa Wedding – From Todd Hunter McGaw […]

switch off..

january is our solo, self-imposed retreat..

no weddings thank you..

stop, switch off.. centre myself again – not only in a zen/day spa/eco organic gluten-free yoga kind of way, but more of a feet on the ground kind of way… do some washing, wallpaper a wall, mow the lawn, go mountain biking with my buddies, visit friends, karaoke  – y’know, normal stuff.. i can still take photos, or not take photos..

if you never switch off.. how can you ever expect to switch on?

on the 1st of february we switch on.. game on.. & i can honestly say, i’m really looking forward to it.. looking forward to meeting up with our 2014 clients, and their friends.. i’m ready.. i even bought a new shirt..

so watch out 2014, i’m going to be all up in your grill.
