• hello friends..

welcome to my personal blog - things i like - music, photos, architecture, design, & words - from my brain (and other people's brains).. all images here are taken by me (some awesome wedding pics from Alyda too), unless highfives are very gladly given to the author of some things i wish i had made/created/recorded/thought of/seen..

ps.. I'm a wedding photographer.. so if you're planning to marry your lover, & you like what you see/feel here, you should contact us very soon.. we take limited bookings for wedding photography each year & we book out early.. (& i'm not just saying that to make you call us) :]

here's a movie we made to introduce our little friends to the world.. ---->

tim & ruth’s noosa wedding..

celebrating the relationship of tim & ruth (aka. #truth)..  the greatest hits..

ruth & tim – bestest friends ever // steven khalil dress of destiny // never-ending vista views // super fresh sea breeze in your face all day // amazing weather // 101 ultra-relaxed, party-hungry friends // a hidden disco inferno tent // closest neighbour is 500 metres away // & a big sign that says “holy sh¡tballs, today is going to be awesome”..

you do the math.

lisa & mitch.. coronation hall wedding

Lisa & Mitch:   “Hey all of our our close friends & family, why don’t we all take a drive out into the countryside & have super relaxed weekend & have a massive party on Saturday in Coronation Hall.. Oh yeah, & we’ll get married while we’re there as well..”

L&M’s friends & family:    “Are you kidding us!?!?!!  That’s an amazing idea!!! We’re there!”

L&M:    “Awesome!”

— later that day —-

L&M:   “Hey Todd, want to come out to Coronation Hall on Saturday & photograph our wedding?”

Me:     “Are you kidding me!?!?!!  That’s an amazing idea!!! I’m there!”

That’s pretty much how it went down..

rachel + simon.. Jimbour House party!

Well, what can I say?  Sometimes, everything – and I mean everything – falls into place..

We caught up with Rachel & Simon the day before their wedding as they were setting up, in the rain.. Like the “Hi everyone, I’m the solid rain that will be staying here all week – hope you don’t mind.” kind of rain..  I mapped out my Plan ‘A’, Plan ‘B’, and even Plan ‘C’ for photos thinking we’d probably need parts of all three at some stage throughout Rachel & Simon’s wedding..  I managed to fax off an request for some clear skies just before ‘close of business’ that day for what it was worth, but to the question of whether rain would feature heavily in Rachel & Simon’s largely outdoor wedding, I could feel all the Magic 8 Balls in the world answering firmly with “All signs point to yes.”

It seems my fax made it into some powerful hands, along with about 150 other faxes requesting the same clear skies.. Yes, it rained on Rachel & Simon’s wedding day, but zero rain fell on the stunning grounds of Jimbour House until the everyone had well moved into the safety of the aircraft hanger for an amazing party..

And with some crazy storms in the area all day long came the amazingly dramatic cloud formations & beautiful golden light.. It was heavenly..  So piece that together with Rachel & Simon (awesome humans), some excellent guests, Jimbour House, amazing event styling, & a swing band..  well… you get the idea..

We made some photos.. That’s why Alyda & I were there :)

HUGE thank you to Rachel & Simon for having us, and to Redbull for helping us get home from Dalby that night..  And to Polkadot Bride for featuring this wedding as well.. Head over here for more photos & info direct from Rachel & Simon.. do it.

leah and cam.. MoNA magnificence.

Photographing a wedding at MoNA in Hobart has been on my “To Do” list ever since I visited the Gallery first in 2012.. I’ve since been back there 3 times because it’s one of our favourite art galleries on this whole Earthworld – and we’ve been to quite a few..

Now.. Leah & Cam.. They are excellent humans indeed, and excellent people tend to do excellent things in excellent places.. And.. so I made some photographs during their excellent wedding celebrations..

ps..

Dear excellent people planning your weddings..

Remember to be IN your wedding day after planning it so excellently, and to roll with the metaphorical punches that may (or may not) come along on the day.. I suggest be like a Bridal Ninja – like Leah was – and use the methaphorical punch’s bad juju energy & turn it into a masterful counter-move to neutralize & stand victorious when your wedding dress’s invisible zip completely fails & after attempts to revive/repair/resurrect said zipper, you call on your friend’s Mum to help sew/stitch you permanently into your dress like a boss.. Then have an excellent wedding, & reception, and after party in the city of Hobart to return to your hotel at 4am when you husband passes out asleep, & your faithful bridesmaid cuts you out of your dress…  (boom!)

Big thanks also to Steve Toga for coming down to Hobarticus to be my second camera.. *two thumbs up bro!*

Rahul @theweddingcardsonline Well, all the pictures are very beautiful and romantic. Other than the beauty and charm of bride & groom, the way and art of clicking the picture has added icing to the cake. These are perfect poses clicked at perfect time. The most important thing is their compatibility. Both of them are looking perfect with each other in love and affection.

One of these picture showing a baby lying down the dining table is funny! It made me laugh a lot.
