• hello friends..

welcome to my personal blog - things i like - music, photos, architecture, design, & words - from my brain (and other people's brains).. all images here are taken by me (some awesome wedding pics from Alyda too), unless highfives are very gladly given to the author of some things i wish i had made/created/recorded/thought of/seen..

ps.. I'm a wedding photographer.. so if you're planning to marry your lover, & you like what you see/feel here, you should contact us very soon.. we take limited bookings for wedding photography each year & we book out early.. (& i'm not just saying that to make you call us) :]

here's a movie we made to introduce our little friends to the world.. ---->

tim & ruth’s noosa wedding..

celebrating the relationship of tim & ruth (aka. #truth)..  the greatest hits..

ruth & tim – bestest friends ever // steven khalil dress of destiny // never-ending vista views // super fresh sea breeze in your face all day // amazing weather // 101 ultra-relaxed, party-hungry friends // a hidden disco inferno tent // closest neighbour is 500 metres away // & a big sign that says “holy sh¡tballs, today is going to be awesome”..

you do the math.

Boho's Best Bits – W/C 20th January – Boho Weddings™ - […] Tim and Ruth Noosa Wedding – From Todd Hunter McGaw […]

switch off..

january is our solo, self-imposed retreat..

no weddings thank you..

stop, switch off.. centre myself again – not only in a zen/day spa/eco organic gluten-free yoga kind of way, but more of a feet on the ground kind of way… do some washing, wallpaper a wall, mow the lawn, go mountain biking with my buddies, visit friends, karaoke  - y’know, normal stuff.. i can still take photos, or not take photos..

if you never switch off.. how can you ever expect to switch on?

on the 1st of february we switch on.. game on.. & i can honestly say, i’m really looking forward to it.. looking forward to meeting up with our 2014 clients, and their friends.. i’m ready.. i even bought a new shirt..

so watch out 2014, i’m going to be all up in your grill.

phase onesies..

photo adventure, todd mcgaw, dan o'day

well i’m glad you asked..

this is what happens when  two photographers, an amazing camera supply store, & a super-dooper medium format digital camera systems builder get together on the dance floor at an industry gala dinner event..

so, myself & my homie dan o’day, are hitting the road in our onesies this monday & road testing the phase one camera/digital back combos of destiny.. just the two of us – a dinosaur & a cheeky monkey – ROAD TRIP! – on the open road into oblivion baby! we’re just gonna drive & drive & never look back yeah! so longgggg world!! #thelmaandlouise.. actually i have to be in melbourne to shoot a wedding, & dan has stuff on, so yeah we’re pretty much going drive on & never look back for 5 days  :)

feel free to follow us on our adventure.. we’ll be posting lots of things along the way, some of which will include some (hopefully) sweet pictures that make your eyeballs happy – made by us with these awesome picture making things – the phase ones!.. and other things too.. follow @danmakepicture & @toddhuntermcgaw on instagrams,  and on the facebooks of dan and todd ..  we’ll also be collecting stuff on tumblr..

a MASSIVE thanks to our excellent partners in this little adventure – camera pro and phase one, for trusting us with their incredibly amazing & very sporty stuff.. we appreciate you!!!

see you on road crazy kids!!!!!

11 December 2013 - 10:55 am

Heath - Great concept! Bet you had a ripper time!

sarah & jaran..

mountain air… breathe it in deep my friends..

once there was an excellent couple called sarah & jaran & they were a-fixin’ to be married..  jaran, an engineer, had modified a ghostbusters ghost trap to capture & contain not ghosts, but the essence of all the things they loved.. they captured lots of lovely things – mountain air, fine blue skies, happiness, love, the smell of tasty tasty food, the atmosphere of the “one-legged duck” pub at springbrook mountain manor, some bright bright sunlight, the early evening chill of september spring, the sound of a trickling mountain stream – you get the idea   :)

they took what they had collected, shook it all about, & then they extracted the essence & injected it into every single little piece of their wedding plans..  the result was astounding..

dear sarah & jaran, a thousand thank yous for having us at your wedding.. we think you guys are excellent & we’d like to induct you both into the “todd & alyda – awesome people we have met in our lives – hall of fame!”  welcome aboard  :)

(ps.. S&J’s wedding was also featured recently on the super dooper wedding blog, junebug weddings – check it)..

Boho’s Best Bits – W/C 30th September – Boho Weddings™ - [...] Sarah and Jaran – From Todd Hunter McGaw [...]

the printed image..

hello beautiful humans!

check out our excellent new style albums – they’re hot off the press..  lush matte finish art paper, with super fine detail in print.. these albums are the new baby from our dear friends at photo mounts & albums australia.. PMAA build all of our albums & have been with us from the beginning..  when you find a book-binder/album builder that is as passionate about making albums as i am about making wedding photos of destiny, therein lies a formula for making some pretty potent product… walter white is taking notes my friends!

their lab is the perfect balance between cutting edge technology & old-school, 4 tonne, 200 year old printing press.. the build quality of all PMAA’s albums are absolutely top shelf – right up there with my hendricks gin & my 82 yr old single malt scotch.. it’s fancypants.. these guys are dedicated to serving professional image makers & they appreciate the tactile experience and the value of the printed image.. so if you’re a client of ours, feel safe that your wedding album is in safe and creative hands, & if you’re a pro photographer, do yourself a solid & go say hi to michael & ioanna – they’re very friendly :)
