fridays on foot.. the bus stop..

You know, photographing 50 weddings a year is a lot of work.. so it’s lucky we’re only doing 49 this year..  Spring time is always mentalpants for me.. It’s usually by about now that my left-brain & my right-brain start punching on & I get a severe case of cabin fever from being chained to the computer in a editing coma.. Right now, if I was to attend a fancy dress zombie party, I’d go as myself & people would say “hey dude, great costume! you do your own makeup?”..

I have a built in cabin fever indicator..  it’s on my leg.. I have a big scar on my leg (the great mountain biking fiasco of 2010), & it gets itchy from time to time..  At first I thought it meant that Voldemort was close, but have since discovered that it means I’ve been working too hard & need to do something that I enjoy purely for me..  for example, ride my mountain bike, go to the beach, eat a taco, further develop my interpretive dance skills, cook some fools, or.. load up the hassie (hasselblad) for some sweet 6×6 film action..

So I end up scraping together a couple of hours to hang out at a bus stop & nearby carpark with the hassie, light meter, & tripod, silently calculating my exposures, getting some weird looks from the late night commuters & taking a grand total of 12 frames.. it was bliss..

Not bliss = dropping my treasured film into the lab for process on Thursday to be told “oh, we only do these on Wednesdays.” (grrrrr..) But I kept telling myself, “Todd, blessed be the patient, for they will be rewarded with many great photographs..”

fridays on foot.. managing the dream since 2007..

Jono I don’t have anything unusual or bizarre to say today. I just want to rhyme:
I like the symmetry,
of the first three.
Great photographer is he,
On the last working day of the wee… (k)

Alexander Gardner *Giggle*

I’m certainly loving the breath of fresh air that comes with film….folks are thinking I’m scubbing up with alcohol swabs after a night of processing though. ;)

Alex I like the suggested silence and emptiness created by these images.
I love urban landscapes myself, so I can truly appreciate why you take these images. Keep it up Todd. Love your work.
