• hello friends..

welcome to my personal blog - things i like - music, photos, architecture, design, & words - from my brain (and other people's brains).. all images here are taken by me (some awesome wedding pics from Alyda too), unless highfives are very gladly given to the author of some things i wish i had made/created/recorded/thought of/seen..

ps.. I'm a wedding photographer.. so if you're planning to marry your lover, & you like what you see/feel here, you should contact us very soon.. we take limited bookings for wedding photography each year & we book out early.. (& i'm not just saying that to make you call us) :]

here's a movie we made to introduce our little friends to the world.. ---->

leah and cam.. MoNA magnificence.

Photographing a wedding at MoNA in Hobart has been on my “To Do” list ever since I visited the Gallery first in 2012.. I’ve since been back there 3 times because it’s one of our favourite art galleries on this whole Earthworld – and we’ve been to quite a few..

Now.. Leah & Cam.. They are excellent humans indeed, and excellent people tend to do excellent things in excellent places.. And.. so I made some photographs during their excellent wedding celebrations..

ps..

Dear excellent people planning your weddings..

Remember to be IN your wedding day after planning it so excellently, and to roll with the metaphorical punches that may (or may not) come along on the day.. I suggest be like a Bridal Ninja – like Leah was – and use the methaphorical punch’s bad juju energy & turn it into a masterful counter-move to neutralize & stand victorious when your wedding dress’s invisible zip completely fails & after attempts to revive/repair/resurrect said zipper, you call on your friend’s Mum to help sew/stitch you permanently into your dress like a boss.. Then have an excellent wedding, & reception, and after party in the city of Hobart to return to your hotel at 4am when you husband passes out asleep, & your faithful bridesmaid cuts you out of your dress…  (boom!)

Big thanks also to Steve Toga for coming down to Hobarticus to be my second camera.. *two thumbs up bro!*

Rahul @theweddingcardsonline - Well, all the pictures are very beautiful and romantic. Other than the beauty and charm of bride & groom, the way and art of clicking the picture has added icing to the cake. These are perfect poses clicked at perfect time. The most important thing is their compatibility. Both of them are looking perfect with each other in love and affection.

One of these picture showing a baby lying down the dining table is funny! It made me laugh a lot.

stacey & glenn.. byron bay + fig tree + party bus!

Really, nothing need be said about Byron Bay – it’s awesomeness is well known & documented.. But… Add Stacey & Glenn, and their excellent friends & family, Fig Tree Restaurant…  and a double decker party bus, and you’ve got a pretty awesome recipe for party to remember!

S&G’s wedding was also recently featured in the amazing Together Journal.. Pick yourself up a copy – it really is a beautiful magazine..

the story of jane and sam, (& digby the dog)..

Jane & Sam… They love life more than most people I think.. They have a contagiously crazy happy vibe around them – you can feel it – it’s like that feeling maybe two seconds before you jump up & start dancing.. It’s compelling, and beautiful..

Their “Wedding Spectacular” was one of the most fun weddings I’ve ever been to..  and believe me when I say, their wedding was “very them”..

Jane & Sam put most of this extravaganza together themselves, but they also had an super team of legends to help.. See below for credits..

aaaaaaannd J&S’s wedding was also featured on the super style blog Hello May, <—- so check it out for more awesome styling pics too!

sophie & will..

Happy first wedding anniversary to these legends!

Sophie & Will married each other last August.. They smashed their wedding day to pieces with brutal elegance.. A perfect balance of classic foundations that support a rich tapestry of modern visuals, mixed with an amazingly relaxed atmosphere.. and of course, there was Sophie’s Vera Wang wedding gown..

Such a pleasure to play a part in your wedding Sophie & Will.. Say hi to Archie the Wonder Dog for me too ;)

winter fashion editorial for RANT clothing..

A fashion designer that sticks to her guns and produces her entire fashion label locally – like actually design/pattern/make/build/sew everything right here in Australia.. Super high quality.. All natural fabrics..  respec..

I’ve been shooting for Sarah for the last 6 years.. In that time we’ve become great friends & photographing her collections has become one the super dooper favourite things about my job..  Phone calls, secret pinterest boards, location scouting – it’s safe to say we’re both pretty dang excited about each shoot as it approaches.. and being on set with Sarah & Jay (her husband/producer) is an absolute blast!  Very “un-fashion-y” in a lot of ways, & I always finish the shoot with a sore face from laughing..

Collaborations like this.. It’s what life is about.

ps.. if you’re looking for some awesome threads to warm you this winter, layer up with these gems from RANT Clothing – available now.. as we speak..  you can buy them here, or here.. (hats & batteries not included).
